it was actually not a very barn-like barn, it was all like, classed up for Important Functions...like weddings.
and the hotel i stayed at had like no heat. oh, there was a heater in the room, and it turned on, but it put out half warm air and half arctic ice air AND IT WAS NOT VERY EFFECTIVE.
One questions the wisdom of having a wedding in a barn at sub-zero temperatures when said barn doesn't have any kind of heating whatsoever. I do hope everyone complained. At least you can sue them if your toes fall off...
Oh gods I hate being cold, and we've just had wimpy -8C to worry about. My recommendation is to spend the next day living in a hot bath. :P
the barn had heating, and the room where the reception dinner was held was actually quite warm. but part of the reception was held on like, this huge open-air deck and there was only temporary plastic sheeting for walls. (there was heat there, too, but it was only partially effective.)
i know the major reason for the venue was cost, the wedding party splurged on the open bar ;P
the hotel being like, 50°F with the 'heating' on was a lot worse, the barn at least got warmer as the wedding went on.
