because i have a frightening amount of free time staring me in the face this week, and i need to fill it with something other than hours of watching Lifetime and playing Left 4 Dead -
a meme lifted from
brokenprism:
-Leave a comment with a character or pairing, and five words/short prompts
-i will write a sentence/short paragraph for each character/prompt.
original post here, if you want to see what it's like. (only, i doubt mine will come out nearly as well... XD )
ETA: so yeah that went, well, as quickly as i could have hoped! but now i have nothing to do again, so if anyone wants to test their luck and suggest any other prompts that is quite alright. (annonymous posting is on too, if you want to post sekritly.)
of course i may just dump another meme here, once my deep desire to crawl under a blanket and sleep the day away is gone.
maybe i'll even work on something i'm supposed to - AHAHAHAHA, PROBABLY NOT.

Raphael is cold all over, but when he looks at her, fire lights under her skin - so violent and sudden Cassandra thinks she will die before she can stop it.
battle
Even conversation is a battle; his words are sharp and cutting, each insult carefully aimed to inflict the most damage, while her retorts - clumsy and wild, full of brash, undirected energy - are improbably effective.
silk
Raphael had dreamed of claiming her in his room, on his bed, her slender sunkissed form bright upon black silk sheets; but to take Cassandra in her room, on her bed - so small it cannot hold their entwined bodies, the worn wooden frame creaking with every thrust - is so much better. This is the heart of her home, her being; when he is finished she will not escape him again.
symbols
Cassandra realizes she is going mad when she finds him everywhere - when she hears the whisper of his voice in the night breeze, sees the cool white gleam of his flesh in the light of the stars, sees the depths of his eyes in the darkest shadows of her room.
time
Twenty-five years in France could not sear Raphael's soul as deeply as the fierce glare Cassandra tosses his way, during that first, chance meeting.
...this was both easier and harder than i thought. (clarity, it is not my strong suit.)

Now back to a semblance of professional competency.
I love really long, convoluted sentences—my professors dock me for them all the time, and I don't care! With something like this, long generally = detailed and creative with beautiful imagery, which you have in spades.
My favorite is probably "Silk," just because it's sexy and awesome and has some great visuals (although IRL, silk sheets are not quite as sexy when you lose traction and slide clear off the bed...). They're all exceptionally well-done, though; thank you so much. :)

the answer, of course, is YES.
(i bet he's got candles and rose petals floating in the bath, too. neeeeeerd!)

rain
When Siegfried arrives at the Valentine Manor, the sky is dark with storm clouds, and the air heavy with the scent of rain - he prays this is not an omen.
blanket
The heavy folds of Ivy's blanket cannot obscure the sweet, generous curves of the body beneath; Siegfried's cheeks burn with shame at the thoughts that invade his mind at the sight.
fathom
Ivy is used to bearing the weight of a man's covetous stare, but she finds Siegfried's gaze difficult to fathom: he does not stare at her body but past it, as if he would possess her essence, her soul.
moon
Moonlight is more forgiving than the sun - there's a strange sort of artistry, a macabre beauty, to a razed village when it is painted in silver and blue and black. Still, Ivy shivers at the sight, then curses; she will not show weakness, not when Nightmare is watching.
Nine
She hasn't even touched him properly yet - she's only undone the buckles holding his armor together - but already his breathing has grown shallow. "You are positively adorable," Ivy coos, and oh, even his angry blush is perfect, a rosy splash of red across smooth, cream-white cheeks. "How old are you, anyway?"
"Si-sixteen," Siegfried stammers, wide-eyed.
"Sixteen?" Ivy repeats in disbelief, an unpleasant sensation of wrong rising where desire had been moments before. "Oh, God, no. This is not happening."
yeah, i totally smashed the 'one sentence/one paragraph' requirement on that last one, huh?
it needed to be done!no subject
Date: 2009-08-26 10:31 pm (UTC)From:Yes! you are right, it had to be done. I'm just so glad I picked 'nine'...
Ah, I do love the bashful Siegfried you've brought out for me here. There seems to be running theme of him 'watching' Ivy, which I like. And also 'watching' in general. I very much like the sentence for the Moon prompt, how the light affects the scene, the contrast and affect. Quite lovely.
Thankyou!! XD

Date: 2009-08-27 01:51 am (UTC)From:re: nine - i haven't read too much Ivy/Siegfried, and none of them ever address the age issue - understandable, i guess, since it's not really mentioned in the game.
which is disappointing, for me - i have a horrible older woman/younger man kink. .__.
on this, at least, SC: Legends delivers. XD

^-^ I think this is pretty simple.
OH! And...
Yukari/Nyamo - shrugging, amount, time, whatever, no
:) I'd like to see you do some Azumanga. lol
*tail wag* Let me know if you need/want more pairings/prompts!

Yuffie's always the first one at Tifa's side, supporting her faltering steps once the day's battles are over - though Yuffie can hardly keep her own exhausted, slender frame from swaying.
arc
Yuffie never expected the arc of her journey would end here - at a bar thousands of miles away from her homeland, her heart captivated by its country-born, beautiful owner.
movement
"Nobody moves like a ninja does," Yuffie tells her; Tifa laughs at the proud tone in her voice, but when she turns around all she finds is empty space. Blushing, Tifa calls out - "Yuffie? Uh, where'd you go?"
steady
Tifa's an excellent teacher; it's not her fault Yuffie keeps messing up the karate Tifa tries to show her.
Yuffie just can't keep steady when Tifa's so close.
smirk
Yuffie's self-satisfied grin is like a screaming alarm bell - instinctively, Tifa checks on her materia.
CHEESY SENTENCES ARE CHEESY. XD;;;

Date: 2009-08-26 11:29 pm (UTC)From:jk, this is totally cool. XD it's never a bad idea to branch out.
shrugging
Nyamo only shrugs when Yukari gives her the picture - the two of them at Disneyland Tokyo, Mickey Mouse ears on their heads and huge, toothy grins on their faces; Yukari tries not to let it hurt her.
And it doesn't, once she sees the photo displayed promenatley on Nyamo's office desk.
amount
I don't think I bought that much..." Yukari says, looking at her wallet worriedly. "Are you sure that's the right amount -"
"Oh, Yukari," Nyamo interrupts, "I added a couple things I needed to your cart - no problem, right?"
Yukari gapes at Nyamo in disbelief, and she can't help but giggle. "Turnabout is fair play, Yukari."
time
"Yukari, you need to get up now, or you'll never get to class on time!"
"inowanna," Yukari gurgles, and sinks deeper into her bed.
Nyamo crosses her arms, considers her options - then dives beneath the covers.
"Nyamo! What are you doing?
"Waking you up - by any means necessary," Nyamo said with a wicked smile.
whatever
"Whatever? Whatever?! That's all you can say? Yukari. You just totaled my car!
no
"Maybe it wouldn't have worked out this way," Nyamo says, spinning one of Yukari's dark curls around her finger. "What if I had said 'no?'"
Yukari snuggles closer to Nyamo. "Oh, I wasn't worried about that - I knew you'd say yes."
"How?"
"You've never refused me before."
heehee, that was pretty fun! dialog and humor are probably my biggest weaknesses, but this came quite easily.
i guess the Yukari/Nyamo love is just that powerful. XD
