hey look, it's a post before 11 pm! i am on the ball today!
TODAY'S TOPIC: Fan failure!
so i told myself i wouldn't post any more sporty things because this is a nerd blog, and i know i'm the only one who follows basketball, but omg. OMG. this advertising campaign is TOO GOOD to not share.
So apparently, in Miami people aren't exactly filling up the seats at home games. so the Heat have begun a not-at-all desperate campaign to drum up enthusiasm. It's called "Fan Up, Miami!" and among other things, comes with a helpful flier instructing you on proper fan behavior.

HEY GUYS GET IN YOUR SEAT AND STAY THERE!!! Unless you're supposed to STAND UP ANDCHEER MAKE SUM NOIIIIIZE!!! don't worry, there will be detailed instructions on the Jumbotron for those of you who do not know the appropriate time(s) to get excited. PROTIP: when someone in a red jersey puts the basketball into the basket, it is a good time to cheer!
But what is this about goodies? well, in case you needed some added incentive to get to games early, the Heat are offering...FOOD DISCOUNTS! ohhhhhhh man. CAN YOU FEEL THE EXCITEMENT?

holy shit, a hot dog, chips and soda for JUST $11?!?!?!?! that'shighway robbery a STEAL. it's good to know that in These Economic Times, the Miami Heat organization is helping the little guy catch a break, let him save a buck or two after paying $100 for a seat...what a class act!
In case you are not sufficiently fanned the fuck up, there's also a video which highlights the CRAZY things non-Heat fans are saying about Heat fans, CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS TRASH TALK?
look at how distraught all those true, definitely-not-hired-actors Heat fans are! why, i might even go so far as to label them as aghast! Miami fans, you're not going to let this slander just continue, are you? ARE YOU?!
Also, those very attractive ladies with the awkwardly sexualized line delivery totally won't be awkwardly sexualized towards late/non-existent Heat fans, and you don't want to miss out on gettin' someclumsy come-ons!
i am so excited about this basketball season, bbs, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. lols this rich usually don't come until deep into the playoffs!

Date: 2010-11-21 10:25 pm (UTC)From:The thing is, as long as they buy the tickets does it really matter if they are on time or not? all this does is make the people already going to games feel like losers, if they want not-interested-in-basketball people to buy tickets they need to promise something else.
Like i dunno maybe they could have Lebron do magic tricks or something. people love magic, right?
