...there are going to be lots of days where I have nothing particularly interesting to say. hahaha
So, goal of writing 500~1000 words a day: NOT GOING SO WELL. It's more like 200 words at this point. Maybe all of that writing in May that ultimately wasn't finished on time killed my urge to write for awhile, I dunno. But, I guess the only thing to do is to keep working on stuff and hope it works itself out.
E3 is nearly here! I'm not particularly good at prediction, and the whole 'who will do the best at E3?!' fervor the gaming journalists (lol) are in strikes me useless - there aren't any 'stakes' for who shows the shiniest stuff - but my feeling is that Nintendo is in the best position to have the most exciting show. They have the 3DS and that new console thing (right?) and as far as I remember, they haven't had particularly riveting shows in the past few years - they could use some hype.
Microsoft has, what, the Kinect, a bunch of high-profile games that have been delayed or otherwise in the works for a long time, and...honestly I think that's it. There's always the possibility of some big secret project/idea being revealed, but I just can't see MS pulling out anything that would be really exciting. Since 'new consoles' seem to be gaining ground, maybe a new Xbox? - the current 360 is hitting the 'end years' of the traditional console cycle, I guess.
Not much idea of what Sony is doing. I hear their conference is going to be 5 hours long - the standard is 3 hours. The Sony conference is going to be the longest ever at E3. This means it is either going to be amazing, or complete train wreck.
As for games/companies I'm looking forward to...right now Soulcalibur V and Final Fantasy XIII-2 (are they really going to call it that?) are the only upcoming games on my radar. Oh, and Resident Evil Revelations. And maybe there will be some news regarding the Guilty Gear series since the rights are back in Arc's hands, or some Half-Life Episode 3 news because of Portal 2's release and they did mention the Borealis in that game...I don't expect Valve to have anything new for the Left 4 Dead franchise but there's always room for surprises.
What are you looking forward to, if anything, flist?

Date: 2011-06-06 01:02 am (UTC)From:I'll probably be watching the Xbox one as well just to see what they're offering for the 360 (or if, as you say, they'll announce a new console).
I don't really pick favourites: I just get really excited about all the new stuff that'll be coming out. I just watch it all and Squee. :D
Maybe we'll hear something about Diablo3? Blech. Last I heard it was going to be out 2012 so they should have more to demo at the very least.
