i finished Blazblue's story mode

time is repeating and somebody's going to end up destroying the world and Ragna and Jin's sister is like cloned a a billion thirteen times, and also she's not dead? and Noel is like Cloud (emo failed lab experiment????) and then there's all this shit about observers and 'units' and...

FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

i am giving up any hopes of understanding what's happening and will instead assume the gag endings are all canon for maximum incestual yaoi potential lulz

Speaking of that, i'm kinda ashamed of shipping Jin/Ragna so haaaaaard, not because of the obvious reason brothers lol but because it's clearly fangirl bait. i remember snapcakes saying how the Snow/Hope relationship in FFXIII annoyed her because it was designed as 'doujinshi bait' and ffs the Jin/Ragna is the same thing, and part of me is all nerdragey at being so blatantly and shamelessly catered to. i want to go 'I see what you're doing, ArcSys, and I am not falling for it! I outgrew that shit after FFVIII!'

Then Jin gets all Oh Nii-san~ and my inner fangirl squeals with joy. /o\

idek why i care so much, it's not like Blazblue is ~high art~ or anything. i should probably be glad there's something outrageously gay to balance all the boob groping and ass-flashing. (WHICH I ALSO APPRECIATE A LOT MORE THAN I SHOULD OTL )

somebody else needs to get this game so i have someone to fangirl/complain about the storyline to. all my fight-game pals are of the SRS BSNS GAMING sort, which is fine most of the time but goddammit sometimes i just want to make incest and Arakune tentacle jokes :[

I keep seeing this game in stores and everyone who I know who's played it says it's good. I just don't know if it's worth me getting it because I haven't been playing video games as much recently :(

i like it a lot but it's kinda hard? :X it frustrates me a lot, but all of the people i play with are a lot more familiar with the game so i just lose a lot. XD it gets frustrating after awhile.

the single-player's alright, it has a decently long story mode that you can play in short bursts.

it's selling at a lower price point here ($40 instead of $60), which was a factor in my picking it up. if it's full price where you are i'd...wait to see if it drops in price tbh.

also, it's really pretty. clearly the most important factor AMIRITE?!?!

I still need to finish story mode but haven't been able to because my younger siblings are around and they're not allowed to watch me play it :l Normally I play it when they're in bed, but the last two nights they've fallen asleep on the downstairs couches so I haven't been able to, orz.

HOWEVER I can say that the whole gay incest thing wasn't played up nearly so much in the first game, and it's kind of annoying me that it is in Continuum Shift? Mostly because the game's director or whatever has come right out and said NO IT'S NOT LIKE THAT and then they just went ahead and did all that anyway. I DON'T KNOW IT'S JUST TACKY TO GO "NOPE NO GAY INCEST HERE" AND THEN SHOVE IT IN EVERYTHING. Also I think some of Jin's character was sacrificed for this which annoys me as well since he was one of the few characters I liked in Calamity Trigger.

Also the story is completely incomprehensible so I'm not even going to fucking bother trying to understand it :|b

ahaha i don't let my family see this game in action either. my sister wanted to see it the last time she visited and i was like "uuhhhh you probably wouldn't like it" mostly because i had no desire to explain something like Taokaka. gd that would awkward.

ohhhhh i get so annoyed when creators have a controversial relationship, deny its existence, then proceed to play it up. it always comes off as condescending, especially when it becomes as overt as Jin/Ragna sometimes gets. a lot of it is in the non-canon stuff, but it's pushed so hard it spills into the interpretation of his canon character - to back off after that comes off as disingenuous. :T

and then i feel like a predictable lemming for responding to it anyway :[

i imagine the story would make some modicum of sense if more characters stopped doing that whole 'i need you do something, but i will only tell you what it is through vague, incoherent statements!' i am SO TIRED of writing that builds up suspense soley through unnecessary withholding of information. Nearly every game and book i've read this year is using that device and it sucks every single time.

My brothers are really young, so I'm not really comfortable with them being exposed to the game's more sexual aspects :l I made the mistake of letting them watch me mess around with CT and LOL NEVER AGAIN. Also, they get really hyper when they watch me play video games, so there's that too.

I'm honestly kind of surprised I don't respond to the baiting. I'm pretty sure this is normally something I would be all over, but I honestly didn't get much of an incest vibe from CT so now that they're beating me around the head and shoulders with it in CS I'm just kind of like, "LOL TRY AGAIN WHEN YOU LEARN HOW TO BE SUBTLE." Idk.

(eta: HOWEVER, I will admit that I can sometimes get behind Jin/Ragna when it's one-sided, mostly because of this one kink I have. I WILL NOT SAY WHAT KINK THIS IS TO AVOID TMI, THOUGH :|b)

Nnnnnngh yeah that sounds about right. I read spoilers before I got the game and was like OKAY IT SOUNDS LIKE THINGS ARE ACTUALLY STARTING TO MAKE SENSE NOW but then lol no. And with some of this stuff it's not even a matter of suspense but just dragging things out. Either way I kind of want to hit my head on the nearest table half the time.
