terabient: Anime-styled profile pic that is kinda, sorta like me (IIDX: Saya)
in which i talk a lot about things I did in college while not in class. :P

day 5: a song that reminds you of someone: So Into You, melody.

SO. When I was in college, one of the things my roommate, Ry Chan, and I did was host our ~very own radio show~, which 'focused' on Asian pop, which mostly translated to lots of j-pop and k-pop with some Filipino 70s music on the side, thanks to old cassette tapes from my mother. (there was some anime and game music sandwiched in there too because we were and still are huge nerds.) This most bubble-gummy of bubble gum jpop songs (seriously, this is some teeth-rotting adorableness here!) was...not our, like, show theme song or anything but we loved it and played it like...once a month. Which is actually a lot considering we were a weekly two-hour show that had a ton of music to cover.

So yeah this song reminds me of Ry.

day 6: a song that reminds you of somewhere: Deluxe, Key-a-Kiss

In Boston - well, Somerville, to be exact - there was this gigantic, and gigantically sketchy, arcade/amusement center called Good Times. It no longer exists today - actually it was demolished last year, or perhaps even earlier - but in 2002, when I first arrived in near Boston as a college freshman, it had one of the rarest of Konami's music games: Para Para Paradise 2, a Para Para dance simulator. When I first visited Good Times I had no idea what Para Para was, but I watched somebody try it and fell in love. Given that this was the only Para Para machine in all of New England, Good Times was the only place I could go to get my Para Para fix.

Deluxe was not the first song I tried (I'm pretty sure that was Easy Busy)but it's the song I remember best and one of the few routines I know by heart. It's also pretty famous within the genre, so, uh, yeah! It's pretty fun, and every time I hear it I remember Good Times fondly, even the place itself was kind of terrible. :p

I was going to do another two days, but those last two entries took longer than I thought.
