so i suppose it's about time i got into the Christmas spirit with - what else? - an internet meme:
Christmas Wishlist Meme!
Step One:
• Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love an icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
• If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
• Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two:
• Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
• If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free -- do it.
• You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not -- it's your call.
• There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

i've split this into two types of requests - fannish, fic/art/icon requests, and requests that would help me out in this crazy place we call reality. :p
Fandom Wishlist:
1. Left 4 Dead fic that involves the original survivors from either 1 or 2. (or both, if you want!) For 'ships, i like Louis/Zoey, Nick/Rochelle, and i think i might be the only person in the whole world who ships Francis/Louis. And like every squealing fangirl i like Nick/Ellis, but there's already a lot of N/E fic out there, SO.
but really, i'd just be happy with reading well-written fic involving all the characters and reading about them being all dorky with each other like they are in the game.
2. FFXII - Ashe/Penelo femmeslash fic, preferably taking place after the original game or during/after Revenant Wings canon. any rating is fine.
3. Soulcalibur - any fic (or art) involving Raphael & Siegfried. It doesn't have to be slash (although I'd never turn it down ;) - it just has to have them interacting in...some fashion. (yeah, clarity is not my strong suit. ahahahaha) to be a little more specific - i'd love to see something set during SCIV, comparing and contrasting the way Soul Edge and Soulcalibur have shaped who they are now.
4. Soulcalibur (again!) - Raphael-centric fic set before SCII - anything dealing with his life in Rouen, or how he and Amy survive before they do the whole poison-a-noble bit.
5. Ah! My Goddess (surprise!) - Icons with the characters Urd or Hild. i could make some myself but i'm really lazy and don't want to go through the not-very-difficult process of looking up nice images and editing them for icon use. X)
Non-fannish Wishlist:
6. Recipes! CONFESSION: i am absolutely terrible at cooking, and i sort of need to do it to, you know, live, but i don't haveany many cookbooks that have stuff a single woman with a poorly equipped kitchen can make. if you have any recipes that are relatively easy and healthy to make that you could share - or know of sites/books/etc. where i could find some - i'd greatly appreciate it.
7. Book recommendations - but only by authors not of American or British origin. they do not have to be contemporary but i would prefer it if they were. in any case, all i need is an author's name, a book title, and a short blurb about their writing.
8. A decent Xbox 360 headset! An actual purchase isn't necessary - if you could just recommend a certain headset (not the default or Mad Catz ones) and a place where i could purchase it, that would be more than enough.
Of course, if you had, say, a good headset just, you know, lying around, and want to send one to me...that option is open. XD
9. A video capture card, preferably USB and under $50. Again, a recommendation is fine.
10. Finally: an invite code to Dreamwidth because i really like the idea, and i'm mostly using LJ-type services for fandom purposes anyway.
