springkink's recently opened prompt list. i haven't claimed anything yet, but there are a few i'm considering. Might take a few FFVI ones, (there's a Terra/Celes prompt, but the one that really caught my eye was Cyan/Terra, because i have considered it before and thought i was the only one in the world who thought they ought to have some kind of relationship) a Skies of Arcadia Vyse/Aika/Fina OT3 prompt, only i have not written for Skies since i was like, 17 and haven't been involved in the nearly non-existent fandom since college, and i question my ability to write it now, and maybe, maybe a FFXII Ashe/Penelo prompt because i really like the pairing, but i've been trying for over a month to write Ashe/Penelo and IT IS NOT WORKING OUT. :(
there's also one Soulcalibur prompt - Raphael/Ivy (!) that i would really, really like to do but someone has already claimed it, which is awesome on one hand because hey, new fic to look forward to, but dammit, it's a really fun prompt and OH GOD I WANT TO WRITE IT SO MUCH NOW.springkink allows multiple claims, but still, i'd feel weird claiming something somebody's already taken.
...i might just go ahead and take it anyway.

1. Which is your favorite fic?
the last goodbye (Ninja Gaiden) was the only time i'd been hit with an idea so hard that i needed to (and was able to) write it down as soon as it came: it only took me a few days to finish it. it's also the only fic i've written where i felt confident in its quality from start to finish. looking back, there are certainly things i'd change/edit style-wise, but at it's core i'm still quite pleased with the story as a whole, and i think it's overall the best thing i've done.
2. Which is your best-received fic?
my very first fic, With You (Skies of Arcadia, Vyse/Aika) has the highest number of positive reviews, although i think a great deal of that was due to the fact that at the time i wrote it, the SoA fandom was desperate for pairing fic and/or writers who could spell reasonably well. XD as for more recently written stuff, a father and his child has the most hits (though that's probably due to it having chapters) and the most favorites, so...there you go.
3. Which is your worst-received fic?
hmm...Lost (FFIX) i once submitted to a quality-controlled archive, and it got rejected - though it was recently added to a quality-controlled C2 community, amusingly enough. it also has at least one 'i don't get why everyone else likes this' review. (i can't remember if there are any more, i don't think so?)
also, Calibur Arcana has by far the fewest number of hits. i think the summary confuses people greatly. XD
4. Which is your angsty-est fic?
ppffftttt, nearly everything i wrote for Skies of Arcadia was outrageously angsty. Tumbling Down actually involves suicide, so it wins the dubious honor of angsty-est of the angstfests.
5. Which is your funniest fic?
i'm incapable of writing humor, although i did write a few humorous attempts at Hayabusa/Hayate when i wrote Dead or Alive fic, and i have a failed drabble attempt for Edge/Rydia (FFIV). none were particularly good, unfortunately...

8. Have you ever made someone cry with a fic?
i have gotten a few 'almost cried/did cry' comments for the last goodbye. have no idea if anything else has done so...probably not!
9. Which fic frustrates you the most?
a father and his child was actively painful to write - i hadn't written fic for years when i started it, it went through multiple revisions before i found the meme of five and with it, a structure on which to hang the ideas i wanted to explore, getting scenes on paper was like pulling teeth, hours were spent on editing and revisions that never seemed to improve the actual product...i haven't looked at it since i wrote it - even months after the fact, i can't shake the feeling that i could have done a lot better.
also, all i've written for Raphael/Cassandra is frustrating - i can't help but feel i'm missing something vital. :/
10. Which fic was the most fun to write?
writing's not really something that comes naturally or easily to me, and as a general rule i don't find it fun - i like having a finished product, i just don't find the journey there easy or enjoyable all of the time.
that said, Resting Comfortably, When the Heart Speaks, and Dinner Party (all Soulcalibur) i enjoyed on a somewhat perverse level, in the sense that i gleefully imagine people stumbling across them, expecting one thing (usually something touching) and getting something totally different. XD
11. Who is your favorite OC you've ever created?
i made an OC for DoA, Naoki, who was completely lame but as he is the only OC i have, is my favorite by default. *sigh*
12. Are you better at oneshot or multipart?
one-shot by far. even my 'multiparts' are essentially collections of one-shots.
13. What character do you think you're the best at portraying?
NOBODY
in all seriousness, i have no idea - characterization i always worry about; i don't think i'm that strong at writing different 'voices' for characters, and i always feel like i've missed something important about a character even if i've written about him/her a great deal.
i think i write Ryu Hayabusa reasonably well; i think i've written facets of Siegfried's personality well enough, but i don't think i've worked all of them together as well as i could/should.
14. What character is the most difficult to portray?
everyone Raphael is tough; i have a much easier time writing about him in a roundabout way, when others are reacting to or thinking about him. writing in his 'voice,' about how he thinks and reacts, is much harder. i have a similar difficulty with Terra (FFVI) - she's so reserved it's hard to get in her head and portray her successfully.
also, any cocky, energetic, extroverted characters are hard for me - it's a mindset i just can't grasp. X)

Look at like this - if you or the other claimer balks on the prompt and backs out, at least someone will have written it and the OP, if they care, will be happy. And if you both write it, the OP will die of joy. :) It's win-win!

o.o Wow, that sounds like me but with drawing. Writing, forget it, I could write all day long, but drawing? Pulling teeth if I'm not in the mood or have no clue as to what to draw. It's frustrating because I want to create mangas, but it's getting to the point where I made need to find someone to help me draw for my stories... >< Which is disheartening somewhat.
