ten genres, ten sentences, ten words each.
i tried this writing meme before and failed miserably. staying within the given restrictions i...still fail, but not quite so much. i mean, at least now i have an excuse for sucking: i cannot be brief, ever. EVER.
did some mixing-and-matching with various genre lists floating around, so the lists are not identical. may try this a few more times, for characterization purposes, also to develop writing that is not quite so bombastic. :|
Ratings/Warnings: R, for suggestions of sex, and Raphael/Amy (i am going to fandom hell, i know it.)
1. UST
The claw clutches his thigh. Siegfried shudders; Soul Edge watches.
2. Death of Romance
Holding bloodstained treasure, he thinks: this is not my dream.
3. First Time
He's afraid to touch Ivy - more afraid to refuse her.
4. Hurt/Comfort
"I've got you," Hilde says.
Siegfried falls to his knees.
5. Alternate Universe
When he wakes, he's human again; Soul Edge is gone.
6. Childhood
"Bastard," they call him; Siegfried swears he'll make them pay.
7. Humor
"I don't understand - what do you mean, calling it 'compensation?'"
8. Horror
The girl begs for mercy. His claw crushes her skull.
9. Angst
He stares at the stars, wondering - do I belong here?
10. Smut
Siegfried shoves aside volumnious skirts, teases willing flesh; Hilde gasps.

Raphael's never treated fevers, but he and Amy manage somehow.

She wilts as he enters; is this all there is?

"No, it's a metaphor. You'd make a terrible dancer anyway."

"Hello, mother, father -" Raphael unsheathes Soul Edge, "I've come home."
8. Smut
He strokes the golden head between his legs, sighs. "You're mine."
9. WAFF
Amy's too old for piggyback rides.
Raphael gives them anyway.
10. Angst
He gulps water, wine, anything, desperately; his mouth stays dry.

"You're stupid."
Blood paints Albion red.

"He's here -" she points, turning away from horrified blue eyes.

"You can't," Raphael whispers.
She kisses his throat. "I must."

"I have...a secret."
Amy pulls out the Magical Wand.
9. Hurt/comfort
Amy wraps the bandage poorly, frowns.
"It's fine," Raphael says.
10. WAFF
"H-happy birthday," Amy stammers, dumping the bouquet in Raphael's lap.

No triumph is sweeter than her name on Siegfried's lips.

Hilde pierces the monster's heart.

Hilde readies her lance, and -

"How did he die?" the soldier's weeping mother asks.
"Bravely."

"We might die."
Nothing Hilde says can blunt that truth.

8. i like this one too. it's the only one that's truly self-contained, a complete thought. all the others read as fragments of a larger idea, which is probably inevitable in a ten word sentence, but still! it's pretty fulfilling, to say everything you need to in a small space.
everything i wrote for Raphael categorically refused to be contained in ten words, AARRGH. i think it's the weaker set, just because nearly every sentence requires a lot of filling in on the reader's part.
...and i am irrationally fond of 'Crack.' :3
