trip time

So, I’ve been considering a trip abroad for awhile. Right now I’m trying to decide between going to Tokyo this September to see the Tokyo Game Show, or waiting until next year to visit Kyoto in the spring…

Waiting until next year would be a lot easier financially, and I’d have at least 2 travel buddies, but it would be for a shorter period of time (4 days, probs) and well, happening next year. But still: KYOTO IN SPRING. (I have this dream of visiting all of Boston’s sister cities, and the (few) people I've talked who have visited Kyoto have said it's an amazing experience. *__*)

Going to Tokyo and TGS would be super exciting, and there would be lots of things both touristy and slightly less touristy that I could do, but I might have to go alone :( and it would be significantly more expensive. But…TGS! THIS SEPTEMBER! I didn’t take a vacation last year and I know this summer is going to be super busy due to work and my brother’s wedding in August–a trip in September sounds so relaxing. ~.~

i dunno. i don’t have to make a decision about Tokyo until the end of June so I guess I’ll just…think about it some more. any suggestions?

I never check dreamwidth...for odd reasons. Not that I have anything against you, for sure!

Kyoto sounds awesome in the spring. If you arrive in early-mid spring, you can probably see a lot of people for flower viewing! But I don't know anything about TGS either.

I just got back from a trip alone and I think it would be much more fun with people. I also had a computer problem during that time, so at night I was just staring at my phone until I could go out again. I could have done that at home...

HELLO! \o/ I only see you on FB occasionally...I was wondering if you'd just forgotten about DW. XD I mean, you'd hardly be the first.

I'm planning for Kyoto next year--the TGS is taking place like, a week after my brother's wedding and I'd basically be taking 3 weeks off when I really don't have the finances to do that.

Where was your trip? :o I had no idea. And, I'd be so nervous, traveling abroad by myself...I've always been with at least one other person.

Heh I went to Hong Kong. So it's not like I was a tourist :D I actually spent the first few days there with a friend but then we didn't get along, and I was doing other things later. I'm really planning to go abroad late this year or next though. I really, really want to go to Vienna! But then I'm going to fly to Finland first, stay with a friend, and then catch a second flight. Direct routes to a popular city are too expensive.

I'm almost always on Facebook actually. Even if it isn't fun---as my friend said, Facebook was ruined when grandma found it. Not grandma, but uncool, Obama hatin', Benghazi!!1! yellin', cranky old people that seem to pop up. I use it mostly for chatting and uploading photos now.
