to my xblox pals: has the XBL service been acting strange lately, or is it just me? - for the past two days or so i have been getting lots of disconnects and lag spikes and spotty/static voice chat and 'cannot join party chat' messages. IT IS NOT VERY FUN. i keep dropping games and getting error messages when i try to accept invites and, just, RAAAAAAAAAAGE. >:| i tried resetting my router and modem but it did not have much of an effect.

ALSO. i downloaded the Aliens vs. Predators demo and everyone tells me it is super awesome, BUT the only mode available is multiplayer deathmatch. i really want to try it out but i hate playing with a bunch of random dudes i don't know. so some other people should download it & we can all beat each other to death in varied ways. PS i hear playing as the humans is really scary.

And you're not the only one with Live issues, it's been rather fucked up lately. Last night we tried to play a game of Versus and every time it would try to connect, it would just bump us back to the lobby. I think it was maybe a combination of a Live problem and a Valve server problem?

until the musical guests were announced, i wasn't that excited...mostly because i couldn't recognize any name on the guest list ^^; i don't watch much anime nowadays and when i do it's usually fansubbed torrents of stuff that hasn't been picked up for NA distribution yet, so the voice-actor and artist list was just a whole bunch of 'bwah?' for me. XD

but zomg, now there's video game music stuff. I AM IN NERD HEAVEN.

i'm not 100% i'll be on staff though, just because of the weekend it's happening, i have LNA training stuff that week and won't be able to show up until Friday afternoon/evening which is kinda bad for a con the size of AB.

i didn't go to AB last year, but i DID go to the afterparty - loversheart is the head of security staff - and i got to meet Yuki Kaijura. unfortunately i was totally smashed when i did, but still. I GOT TO SEE HER AND DRUNKENLY WAVE HELLO. XD

fffff BOO LIVE AND/OR VALVE SERVERS. >:| every game i tried to join or host kept imploding like halfway through, i couldn't finish ANYTHING. it must have affected match-finding stuff too - every time i pulled up the 'Xbox Live Custom Match' option I would get either 'no sessions found' or only 1 or 2 game sessions would come up - even on popular modes like Campaign. i was like 'why is this game so dead all of a sudden?' but if there were server problems then i guess it makes sense.

one of my friends was talking about the AvP demo - the humans only have a little flashlight to see with and you can hear the Aliens clicking around you in the darkness and i was like OH SHIT THAT SOUNDS AMAZING..LY HORRIFYING. =0

it sounds like it's really good, but even if it didn't i'd want to play it anyway because i'm a great big AvP dork. i have seen all the terrible movies and everything. XD

I'm not as much of an anime nerd as I used to be either. I used to watch anime all the time, but now I'm lucky if I catch episodes of anything new. D: I still like to go to anime cons, though. :3

It seems like the servers have stopped acting up... for now. But yeah, seems it was a Live/Server problem. D: I played a couple of Versus matches last night with few problems, besides a lag spike here and there.

THAT DOES SOUND TERRIFYING. TOO TERRIFYING FOR A PUSSY LIKE ME. XD I often watch my husband play scary video games from underneath a blanket on my couch. ^_^;;

i don't even know what's new x_x but i do like hitting up anime cons, if only for the dealer's room and the video game setups ^^ plus it's the only way i would see friends who have moved away. :(

Meeting Yuki Kajiura was like, a total fluke. XD she and some of the members of FictionJunction were guests at the con, but i couldn't go last year because of a wedding the same weekend. i was able to go to the afterparty loversheart was throwing, though, and Yuki Kajiura wasn't leaving until the morning after. I met her when she and a bunch of other staff people went outside the hotel to smoke, and after a lot of badgering from other people (i was pretty drunk at that point and i didn't think she'd appreciate having some drunk crazy fan talking to her while she was trying to relax) i went up and said hi. XD she wasn't upset or anything, thankfully.

trying to find a game in the custom match settings was still hard, but quick match worked last night. i think the custom match thing is an issue on my end, though, not a server/xbox one. OH WELL~

i like scary games but if they're really frightening i can't play them for like...more than half an hour, tops. it's too nerve-wracking.
