i tried cappin' some vidya gaming last night with mixed results

the video-capping part is fine (you know, aside from the terrifically low quality lol) but the audio: NOT SO MUCH. higher-pitched sounds like gunfire and voices get very static. i'm not sure what is causing the problem as it has capped audio without problems before.

i had to play with all sound off (L4D2 doesn't have an option to turn off sound effects, just a master volume control.) though party chat stuff was fine...although occasionally people's voice just burst into static at times.

anyway here is a clip from last night with hazel_de_roiste and nekocrouton that demonstrates my audio problems. :( there is also a hunter that looks like he is sitting on air and zombies that spawn out of nowhere.

i forgot to mention it above but apparently my voice does not come through the speakers, so it wasn't capped. OH WELL :|

i should probably just buy a new card than put up with the old one, but. i'm cheap and lazy~

I wouldn't actually mind seeing the whole campaign,just for shits & giggles, because of the hour I play it at, I don't really remember it the next day.LAWL.

Have you got it set that voice comes through the just the headset? Because you can set it so that it comes through either the speakers or both.

I looked into getting one myself,it was pretty cheap but the reviews weren't fantastic. I think it's mainly made for other things than being used on consoles. My only trouble is Windows 7 :C

i do have the voice coming through the speakers & headset, but for some reason my own voice isn't picked up when recording EVEN THOUGH i can hear myself through the speakers. i might try setting it to speakers-only and see if that makes any difference.

pricing is the big thing keeping me away from upgrading. all of the (clearly) nice ones are like $100+ and the below $50 are so questionable i don't even know if it's worth getting one. the one i have was a gift a few years back so even though it's kinda crappy at least i didn't pay for it, lol. :>

Yeah, you should probably try that out because the fact that you are making it go through both the headset & the speakers could be confusing the capture card.

Now,if there was only a way sorting the sound problem out so you can actually hear what's going on & it doesn't sound like constant ringing =/ There might be something online to help?

The cheapest one I can get is about €20 including delivery but like I said,it won't run on Windows 7. I could use my old laptop though since that has Vista on it. I'm just really tempted to get one.
