two drabble/drabble-esque fics:
Title: when the heart speaks
Pairing: Kilik/Xianghua
Prompt: R: Relationship
Rating: NC-17
Words: 100 (zomg, an actual drabble, what is this)
A/N: oh, the horrors that occur when one reads far too much into 'Kilik sees Xinglian in Xianghua.' ;[
---
The night is full of stars, but Xianghua hardly notices. Kilik's eyes make up the whole of her sky, his labored breath the only wind she feels.
"Kilik," she cries, voice high and fluting. He pulls her closer, and he is deep and hot and hard inside her; she claws at him, desperately. It hurts, but oh, she wants this - him; wants to feel his body quaking, wants to feel him come, wants her name on his lips -
"Xianglian," Kilik groans, "Xianglian..."
The night air chills Xianghua's skin. The slap of flesh upon flesh fills her ears.
It hurts -
---
Title: Be human
Pairing: Zasalamel/Setsuka (I HAVE NO IDEA EITHER)
Prompt: Q: Quickie *immature snigger*
Rating: NC-17
Words: 250
A/N: He thinks he won't remember her. She thinks he will.
---
Zasalamel does not know what draws Setsuka to him, or why she, out of countless women met over endless years, causes his ancient blood to stir once again. It's this curiosity, more than anything else, that makes him accept her offer; after the sweet agony of death and rebirth, the pleasures of the flesh hold little appeal.
He wonders how long it will take to forget this encounter; wonders when the heavy weight of her breasts in his hands and slick, grasping heat of her channel will become indistinguishable from all the other women. A day, a week, a month? Longer, perhaps: her dark eyes never leave his face, even as her back arches and snow-pale thighs tighten around his waist in helpless throes of ecstasy.
It is curiosity, afterwards, that prompts him to ask: "Why?"
Setsuka doesn't answer, at first. Instead, she rests her fingers on the tattoo circling his eye, her touch delicate, cool, like the flower petals of her namesake.
"You hold the world in your eyes," she says, finally. "But no life is there. I thought you should be reminded of what it is like."
"Life passes in the space of a breath," Zasalamel answers. "There is no purpose in remembering it."
"It is life's transience that makes it worth remembering," Setsuka says. She stands; he watches her leave in silence. She never looks back, never pauses in her stride.
The image of white skin wrapped in flower-printed silk lingers in his mind for a long, long time.

Date: 2009-08-23 08:34 pm (UTC)From:I love all of these, but most especially Be Human. Given Setsuka's profession it could potentially lead her into any number of pairings, but you make this one work very well. Mostly I like it for this:
Perfect! And this from a prompt labeled 'quickie!'

Date: 2009-08-25 03:00 am (UTC)From:re: Be human - i was trying to think of characters who'd likely have unexpected and/or transient relationships, and then i thought - Zasalamel probably thinks ALL relationships are 'quickies,' too brief and too weak when considered within the context of world history. while Setsuka's character seems all about sudden moments of clarity and treasuring things that won't last. it struck me as a really potent contrast.
...so that's how i made this particular form of crack. ^^;
