1. she helped Yuffie refine a lot of her martial arts skills.
2. i imagine this has actually been addressed in canon, but in my head it's Tifa who first suggests wearing the pink armbands in Aerith's memory.
3. ...i don't have a third thing. XD I WILL HAVE TO THINK OF ONE LATER~
b.
nothing is wrong!i wouldn't say it makes her suck, but Tifa's lack of self-confidence is sometimes hard to watch, especially when she's dealing with Cloud. :(c. i like how Tifa is something of a reversal of leading female characters - it's almost a given that a physically powerful female character also has a forceful, brash personality to match, but Tifa's reserved and even a bit shy. it's an interesting juxtaposition and one i wish happened more often in games.
d - e. (i don't have 5 for EITHER question, lol, so i'm just going to mush all my thoughts together here.)
never happened:
i don't think Tifa ever had a real boyfriend (or girlfriend, lol) until she arrived in Midgar, at least - and i think it's quite possible she'd never been in a serious relationship prior to FF7 - in Nibelheim, while she had lots of admirers, she didn't seem close to any of them, and given all of the things that happened to her once she made it to Midgar (meeting AVALANCHE, opening 7th Heaven, etc.) i would think she'd have a hard time developing intimate relationships.
(i guess that could count as fanon, hehe)
never loved:
it's more of a 'pairings i don't get' list, but i can't see Tifa/Vincent, Tifa/Sephiroth (seriously, every time i see this pop up on ff.net i just go BWAH?) or Tifa/Reno.
two much baggage/hate/weirdness on the last two. as for Tifa/Vincent...they just seem too reserved to acknowledge any attraction if it *did* develop. i think they both need other people to push them to bare their feelings; neither of them will do it on their own, and open, willing emotional intimacy is a necessity in a strong relationship.
*pokes* you should try this too ;D

a:
1. he has long hair because it's tradition in his clan. prior to NG2, i fan-opined that he kept his hair long as a sign of mourning for his dead clan members, but in NG2 - where his father Joh comes into the picture - i ended up scrapping that explanation. now it's a symbol of his birthright - only direct Dragon Lineage descendants keep their hair long; for any other ninja, it would merely be a sign of frivolity.
(yeah, i think way too much about hair. XD )
2. he was in an arranged marriage to Kureha. depending on how i'm feeling atm he was totally ok with this or slightly resentful of it - until, of course, she bit the dust. X3
3. like all ninjas
in pornRyu learned how to use sex as a weapon. this has had the unfortunate side effect of nearly taking all the joy out of the act itself. he's incredibly good in bed, but every, ahem, trick he's learned is designed to make it easier to kill someone, which creates an unpleasant juxtoposition of emotions he prefers to avoid.tl;dr: Hayabusa's is a s3x0rz machine, right down to the emotion involved. XD
b. at certain points, he is stoic to the point of being dull. X3
c. um, he's a motherfucking superninja.
d - e. (there is no way i'm getting to 5 on either of these things...)
never happened:
-has never been married (i think Aileen's been retconned out of existence by this point) though he may have toyed with the idea.
-hasn't forgiven his father for not being around when the Hayabusa clan was slaughtered, though he's never voiced this out loud.
-doesn't ride in helicopters. just destroys them.
never loved
-i like Rachel a lot, and i think she fell in love with him - but i doubt he reciprocated those feelings ever. :( same with Sophia in NG2
-um...i can't see him with Hitomi, or Leifang. or most of the male cast in DOA .(Hayate and maaaaaaaybe Jann Lee are exceptions, ha.)
aaand i think that's it!

Date: 2009-08-08 07:46 pm (UTC)From:o.O; And I don't get any of the pairings either. Vincent is too obsessed with Lucrecia (sp?) to notice anyone else. Sephiroth is well, obsessed with Cloud (lol) and any Turk just doesn't seem realistic (as she probably hates the Turks). Though Tifa/Elena seems like a fun idea. XD >.> I don't get Tifa/Scarlet though. <.< Actually, I don't really understand Scarlet, so that could be it.
^-^ Oh, I am!

1. this is hinted at in canon, i think - i'm pretty sure Siegfried's birth was an accident. Frederick had no intention of marrying Margaret, and she never expected him to return. The only reason he reconsidered was because he found out she'd given birth to a boy.
2. Siegfried didn't have an especially difficult childhood, but i think he was teased relentlessly when he was young - partially due to the circumstances around his birth, partially because he was on the small, slightly pretty side growing up. this more than anything is what spurred him to join up with the Schwartzwind, in order to prove he was the biggest badass of them all. XD
3. In SCL/SCI, has the worst sort of crush on Ivy - and one of the ways Soul Edge keeps his soul in thrall is by convincing Siegfried she'll actually notice him if he can pull off Soul Edge's revival. (drama ahoy!)
b. sometimes (but only sometimes!) his whole redemption storyline can cross the line from compelling drama to um, Linkin-Park-lyric levels of comic, emo angst.
but most of the time i think his misery is reasonable.
c. he is a seething cauldron of all kinds of crazy mental issues. X3
d - e. (these two questions always give me a problem...)
never happened:
-has never dealt with how he felt about his father *before* he killed him - I think Siegfried was more than a little resentful towards Frederick for not being home more often, but after murdering him, he's conveniently forgotten that.
-I don't think he'll ever be able to forgive himself for what he's done. He may be able to see that his life has value and worth to others in the future, but there's this...quality about Siegfried that makes me think he won't accept forgiveness about the past.
-never raped anyone as Nightmare: his violent rampage was strictly T-rated. :p
never loved:
-Siegfried/either of the Alexandra sisters doesn't do much for me. I kind of think Cassandra and Siegfried could become really close friends - their personalities seem to mesh well for that kind of relationship - but as far as love is concerned, neither Sophitia nor Cassandra seem quite right.
for what it's worth, I think Siegfried wants (and needs) someone with a really forceful, dominating kind of personality - someone who can give him direction.
-um....
PROBABLY NOT LIZARDMAN LOL.

Date: 2009-08-19 06:04 pm (UTC)From:Loves this! Omg yes, this should be cannon because it rings so true. I bet he managed to get all the girls though.:p Let's be honest, he's the 16th century answer to Legolas...he's still the prettiest!
I also agree with you about never raping anyone as Nightmare, I don't think Soul Edge as any interest or inclination, except, perhaps, for when it comes to making prodigal daughters. But even that didn't work very well...
I do wonder if poor Siegfried will ever actually be able to fall in love though. I believe you're right in this and think perhaps a sense of duty and affection maybe all he'll be capable of feeling towards a lover in the future. :(
...Sorry it's taken so long to respond to this, I'm living in a building site at the moment, it makes interwebbing a bit of a pain.

Date: 2009-08-20 04:32 am (UTC)From:...i can't remember if Ivy's conception was something orchestrated by Soul Edge completely, or just a random event that Soul Edge realized it could capitalize on later. i tend to think the latter, but i don't know if that's ever been addressed in canon. :o
hmm...as for love - i don't know? i could see him making a really honest effort to love someone if he was aware they cared for him, but...Siegfried's concept of redemption, especially in III/IV, has such a suicidal undertone to it that, if he were to survive, i'm not sure he'd know what to do with himself. :| kinda hard to see someone in that position being able to fall in love.
np about the reply...i'm always surprised when people actually comment here. XD

Date: 2009-08-20 04:48 pm (UTC)From:I also lean towards Ivy's conception being a random event that Soul Edge capitalized on, later. However, I also think that Cervantes had more control of Soul Edge as host than Siegfried could have dreamed of; probably due to his nature and experience. It makes me think that, him being a pirate and the scourge of seven seas, if Cervantes raped one woman, he probably raped more. Which then brings up the question as just how many 'Seeds of Soul Edge' could conceivably be running around...
Apropos that, it then makes me think of what Siegfried might pass onto his offspring if he were to father any post Soul Calibur IV... Emma Frost then springs to mind. XD
