The changes are only affecting the main page and comment pages using default settings, so right now it's easy enough miss it or work around the changes. But LJ is planning a major site redesign and the new comments are the 'preview' of what it will look like and, I'm guessing, how it will perform...which as of now is 'badly.'
If this were just a beta or one-time redesign I suppose I'd stick it out, but if the rest of the site is going to become equally user-unfriendly and they don't take the concerns of paid account holders seriously, I won't continue to support them in any way, even if my contribution to their bottom line is negligible. :P
If you don't want to abandon LJ completely Dreamwidth allows you to crosspost entries and import older entries and comments to your DW journal. Communities are different, although in the last week my DW flist has EXPLODED with new community promos and activity from all the people leaving LJ.
I was thinking of hosting a Soulcalibur anon kink meme there since SCV is releasing soon XD and the LJ SC community is totally dead. Though IDK if anyone would, you know...find it or use it.
