I haven't done one of these fandom memes for awhile, so uh, have one now!
Name two (or more) characters from any of my fandoms and I'll tell you:
1. What they most commonly do during sex (if they are the sexing type)
2. Who has prettier (or just more attractive) hair
3. What they argue about most often
4. Who'd cope best if the other one died
5. The happiest plausible happily-ever-after I can think of for them
6. The most tragic possible ending for them
7. What I enjoy most about their dynamic
8. What I find difficult to write about them
i follow a lot of things but I don't always talk about them, SO if you are wondering what kinds of things are up for discussion just ask and I will happily discuss. Happily over-discuss, even.

1. The obvious answer would be biting. Also: bondage. I feel like collars would be a ~thing, because Raphael is that possessive,
also petsand Siegfried feels that guilty. (And my headcanon says he likes being dominated more than he'd ever want to admit.)2. I like Raphael's hair a lot, but there's no way he can compete with Siegfried on this. SO MUCH SHINY GOLDEN GOODNESS.
3. Aside from the obvious Soul Edge/Calibur thing? :p I imagine there's lots juvenile insults regarding their respective nationalities. Raphael thinks Germans are barbaric uneducated farmers and sell-swords, Siegfried thinks the French are pampered lazy class-obsessed idiots, and so on and so forth.
4. Siegfried, if only because Raphael regularly tries to kill him. :p That being said, Siegfried would probably get over it pretty quickly.
5. I don't know if they can have a happy ending. Assuming Raphael and Amy were somehow cured of their malfestation - I doubt Raphael would be interested in fighting the surviving malfested, like Siegfried. Maybe if Siegfried could convince Raphael that doing so would secure the best possible future for Amy, but I'm not not sure he'd be able to do that.
I have played around with the idea of Raphael trying to get a confused, guilt-ridden Siegfried to embrace his darker tendencies (telling him he wasn't wrong for killing his father, or for seeking out Soul Edge) to convince him that the world he plans to build for Amy is one where Siegfried can 'exist', as well. That's kind of a happy ending in that they're together, with a purpose and a kind of dark, insane affection for each other - but it's probably not happy for the rest of the world. :p
6. I suppose it would be killing each other in battle. Although, Raphael's fate as far as SCV is concerned is probably even more tragic than that. He's lost Amy, with little to no hope of ever finding her. (even if Viola = Amy, the best case scenario is that they meet and don't recognize each other.) Ouch.
7. Canonically, they probably hate each other, but there's probably some grudging respect on both sides. Combine that with the fact that they both have, um, questionable grasps on reality/sanity at times, that Raphael's goals are a bit more complex than 'lol rule the world/kill everything', and Siegfried's intense feelings of guilt and desire to atone...there's just a lot of emotion and twisted rationalization to work with.
8. EVERYTHING. Actually, it's working out their motivations so that they have a desire to do something other than try to kill each other. x_x I often feel I don't succeed to well on that front...
I'll try and get to the other ones later~
Aryan shipping xD
Date: 2012-03-05 01:37 am (UTC)From:1) Hehe, I knew you were going to say this XD Is there a psychological reason you can think of for the domination thing, you think? [s]Yes, I am way more curious about this than I should be xD[/s] Pets?
2) Agreed!
3) To this day, I heard some French people hate everyone who spoke German because WWII. Austrian guy told me that some waiters wouldn't even serve him until he insisted he wasn't German. Weird -.- So you're not too far from the truth there.
6) There's almost nothing we know about him in SC5, yeah. Don't know how long he was imprisoned, no story mode, can't be sure of why he hasn't aged. Even he doesn't remember much of what happened in the bio. Gah.
7) That's definitely one of the reasons why I like your characterization of Raphael so much better than most others XD The other ones have some sort of madness (without reason) to them that I just think is too generic or...canon.
8)[s]Lol yaoi[/s] Yeah, I agree with this too. Most fics actually have little to nothing to do with Raphael, at most, it's just using him as a source of background information. I can't see how they could not have something together, it ends SC2 and starts SC3 o__o Maybe I'll try it for myself someday.
Please get the others if you have time XD It's always great to fangirl about this and stuff :D And thanks for writing!

Date: 2012-03-05 05:53 am (UTC)From:More generally, the closest canon relationships he has are with Hilde and (in SCI) Ivy, both who are fairly dominating kinds of people. :p Siegfried doesn't seem very confident or sure of himself, (he can come off as arrogant or cocky occasionally, but I think that's more of an act that he puts on to convince himself that he has more willpower or control than he actually does) and is drawn to people who are powerful, who can give him direction.
On pets: haha I just think that Raphael is using Amy as an excuse to collect people/servants. I mean, what is she supposed to do with all those 'pets' he keeps beating up for her? :p
7. /o\ you are too kind.
And SC canon does use 'madness' as a catch-all phrase for out-of-the-norm behavior, huh? In Raphael's case I think 'amoral' is closer to what they mean, ultimately. But madness sounds more dramatic, I suppose.
8. I still wonder how they both left the cathedral in SC2 without encountering each other again. It feels like something should have happened. :p

Date: 2012-03-05 04:57 am (UTC)From:Siegfried/Hilde
1. ... Hilde rides Sieg like a champion. :p More generally, Hilde's used to being in charge and taking the lead, and Siegfried would very much want to please her, so regardless of what they do Hilde is usually the one initiating and leading the act.
2. This is hard, they both have beautiful hair ;o; Um...Hilde because of that amazing shade of red and the way it curls around her face.
3. Hmmm...going by the dialog they have before they fight, I think they spend a lot of time arguing about how much fighting Hilde ought to do. Hilde thinks that as a leader, she ought to be on the front lines with her soldiers, while Siegfried believes that as a queen with children
maybe his children as well? :oshe should be more cautious and let her people (and himself) protect her.4. Hilde. She's in a position where she's had to learn how to handle losing the people she loves and cares for. I don't think Siegfried could handle losing Hilde, even if they aren't married/a couple/etc. - his happiness seems very fragile, and Hilde's a huge reason why he was able to find peace in the first place.
5. Wolfkrone becomes habitable again and Hilde establishes a secure kingdom for her children, while Siegfried acts a soldier/leader in her army. (Even if he's not Hilde's husband/fuck buddy/whatever, I think he'd be happiest serving her and her kingdom.)
6. Wolfkrone is never purified, Hilde is never able to re-establish her rule elsewhere, and Soul Edge or the malfested manage to kill them and/or the kids. :c
7. I have a terrible weakness for 'Warrior queen/princess and her loyal knight' romances if they're done with some flair or twist. Siegfried's past as Nightmare adds tension and layers to what could be a boring, stereotypical relationship. And Hilde, who's very sure of herself and what she's doing, is a good fit for Siegfried, who doesn't trust himself at all and questions what he should do all the time.
8. Not gonna lie, knowing that Hilde has children but not knowing who the father is is kind of hard to wrap my head around. I don't even care if it's Siegfried or not - each scenario opens up some really interesting possibilities for their relationship - but not knowing anything is really frustrating. DX
Re: Wahhh sorry for lateness! XD
Date: 2012-03-16 03:34 am (UTC)From:4) Yes, exactly. By the events of SCV, Siegfried has no more living family members, yet he needs some people who could believe he atoned/is good in some way for it to matter. Hilde's ending, yeah...
7) I am really tempted to write this XD
8) Not naming the didn't make much sense to me either. They most likely didn't bother working it out and the mention of kids might just be an idea of a future sequel, etc. It wouldn't really make sense if she's with Siegfried during the events of SCV if the kids aren't his.
Other stuff:
I'm actually interested in writing about those two in the future. Glad you wrote this, I'd always wanted to hear what you thought about them :D I would like to mention that the amount of time that passed in between the games really changed Siegfried's character but still not much is known about what Siegfried went through. Fighting malfested for 17 years? Why is Hilde still so close to him? Bah...might have to answer this with a fic. Luckily Spring Break is coming up! :D

btw, I hope school's going well for you!

Date: 2012-03-06 01:18 am (UTC)From:Amy/Raphael
1. FEEL GUILTY
2. Again, Raphael just can't compete against those glossy red curls.
3. HMMMM. I think they may go out of their way not to argue. Theirs is a relationship where they both adore each other and put each other on a pedestal, and they aren't together very often so I suspect they both try to enjoy what time they have instead of bringing up grievances.
That said, Amy really, really wants to tell Raphael to stop leaving her.
4. Amy. Although she wouldn't deal with it well, she'd be able to function and recover from the loss eventually. Raphael...well, I don't even think he'd be able to accept it. (I think at least part of the reason Raphael doesn't seem concerned about losing 17 years in SCV is because he's trying to ignore the possibility that Amy could be dead or completely unrecognizable to him.)
5. They find each other, somehow, and instead of Raphael doing something stupid like, i dunno, trying to make everyone in the world pets for Amy (heh) while she waits for him in an unsecured location, they stay together. Everything else is secondary - whether or not they're malfested, whether they're wandering or settle somewhere - as long as they're together.
6. As mentioned before, it doesn't get more dire than their current situation in SCV...
7. I like that they are wholly amoral, uncaring people except when it comes to each other.
8. Actually, I think Raphael/Amy is easier to write than most. There is a lot of dramatic potential to work with and their relationship somehow manages to be intense while having an air of ambiguity to it - so there's many directions a writer can take while developing them. It's hard to make truly boring Raphael&Amy fic. Even if it's not particularly polished or well-developed, there is usually something compelling to it.
