So
fandom_stocking is a thing that is happening on Dreamwidth RIGHT NOW. Basically it is like Yuletide, but only the Yuletide treats part--you leave a fandom wishlist at this post, it's posted as a 'stocking' in the comm, and then people make/give you things based on your wishlist. Even if you don't want to leave a wishlist for yourself, there are a lot of lists already up so if you're looking for something to do you should check it out, maybe?

In order to make this post more than just a signal boost, here are some perplexing things from the internets.
First is this image. It's from Konami's Beatmania DJ simulation game. I have no idea what music video features this particular picture, but I'm dying to find out.

Next is a Beatmania IIDX video parody thing. Ronald McDonald is prominently featured.
First, some context. One of the more recent Beatmania IIDX releases featured a song titled Beach Side Bunny. It is most notable for being a catchy party tune and utilizing a cute sun graphic. Here is the music video. I would highly suggest watching it so the next part makes, well, not sense, but at least you'll understand one of the inspirations. <(╹ヮ╹)>
Then someone made this video. I have no idea what is going on here, but I think I like it!
Finally, seeing as it's December and the holiday season is upon us, now is as good a time as any to bust out my favorite 'cooking' videos of all time: Sandra Lee's Hanukkah and Kwanzaa cakes. If you aren't acquainted with Sandra Lee and her semi-homemade aesthetic, well...I'm sorry. And if you do know who Sandra Lee, but haven't seen these clips? Well...sorry for that too, because even for a woman who is most famous for making liquor-heavy cocktails for lunch and coining the phrase 'tablescape', this is some hideous work. I've posted these before, but ever since discovering these crimes against taste I have made a point of sharing them again when seasonally appropriate, for they never cease to shock me.
First up: the Hanukkah Cake. This, um, recipe (?) calls for you to fill an angel food cake with marshmallows, that delicious non-kosher treat. There are also instructions on how to craft a topping...thing...made out of fake pearls, and which Sandra Lee insists on calling a Star of David. There's also a section where she just babbles on about heat in Southern states and eating light and airy things because no one could possibly want a heavy meal when it's hot out and I guess it never gets chilly in the South, ever? Anyway, it's really something you need to see to believe.
Next is the infamous Kwanzaa cake, which defies all description and logic.
There are a lot of unbelievable, breathtakingly stupid moments in this clip, but my favorites are when she covers the cake with fucking corn nuts, (she also calls them acorns, which is even more incredible) and when the cake begins to collapse upon itself due to the weight of the wildly unsuitable 'Kwanzaa candles.'
I hope something in that pile of random was entertaining. ^^
