i got a message from one of the guys we played against in Team Versus - the same one who sent snapcakes and i the 'gg!' message - turns out he was from Gamebattles, and he wants to know if we'd be up for another game or two with his GB team. Apparently, the people he was playing with Monday night weren't his usual group.

i haven't sent an answer yet. i'm up for it, but idk what you guys would like to do.

Ahaha ten bucks says he just wants to get revenge with a hypercoordinated team. But idc, I'd do it, anyway. If only to play against a potentially ragequit-proof team without us having to get all split up in a Loled Back group game (or playing the Sniper Girl lottery).

I'm sure there's a little bit of payback on his mind but otoh...in my DARK GAMING PAST i dabbled in the competitive gaming scene, and his message (it was a voice post) was decidedly lacking in butthurt.

i poked around the GB site and it looks like the L4D2 group is pretty dead. my guess is that he's looking for groups that he hasn't played a billion times before and aren't terrible as much as REVENGE MATCH OMG~

Seriously, Gamebattles is kind of a joke on GameFAQs, just because I've heard that some of the people who are in it aren't all that great. XD

I'd be up for it though. :3 I'm off the next 4 days so any of those nights would be good for me. I'm just afraid that he's going to get his A-Team and stomp us. Ahahahahaha. Maybe we should replace one of us with sniper girl? LOL. I'm just kidding. ;D

The only way I'd even think about doing something like that is if there was like some sort of spectator mode so that at least one of us could at least watch the LOLs as they ensued. XD

i hadn't heard of Gamebattles before, but when i went to the site and saw it was run by MLG i was like..."Oh, this again."

MGL tried to do tournament stuff for DOA4 back when that game was still HOT SHIT, and while they talked a lot about competitive, tournament quality gaming and made a big fuss about qualifiers and such they were remarkably poor in actually...weeding the good from the bad. Like, there were good players who entered their tournaments but they were run in such a way that it wasn't very selective. SOOOOO i'm not surprised that another competitive gaming venture of theirs is a lot of talk and no game.

I mean, I'm sure there are good players and teams using GB but I'm guessing there are a lot of mediocre ones too.

anyway, i guess i'll message him again to find out possible meeting times. dude sounded pretty laid-back and friendly in his message so even if it turns out to be one-sided i don't think they'll be like....OMG THEY SUUUUUUXXXXXXXX. so it's all good XD

this...does not surprise me.

hoping it won't be too lopsided. as long as they don't request something stupid like Swamp Fever as the map, i think we've got a good shot at winning, or at the very least keeping it close.
