pie

so, (American) Thanksgiving is coming up and i am in a quandary.

due to family tradition i am obliged to make some sort of dish - appetizer, side, or dessert - for dinner.

this year i'm thinking of bringing a pie, because everyone loooooves pie. two problems:

-i'm pretty terrible when it comes to baking
-i don't know any pie recipes
-there are already a lot of pies being brought, and i don't want to make something that someone else will be bringing as well.

incidentally, this was last year's pie spread:

-apple
-banana cream
-blueberry
-pecan
-peanut butter ice cream
-pumpkin
and i can't remember the actual name, but there is always a cookie-dough-ish sort of pie.

i am thinking of bringing chocolate cream or maybe strawberry-rhubarb pie, maybe just strawberry pie if such a thing is possible/tasty? ...i don't really know many kinds of pie.

if anyone knows about interesting/tasty pies, or a place where i can find good pie recipes, (i could try google but that is a bit hit-or-miss when it comes to cooking) PLZ INFORM THX.

it would be much appreciated, as my alternative is dumplings for appetizers and they are quite tiresome to make. :|

ALSO. current zombie kill count: 47,118. 6477 to go!

If apple pie weren't already on the list, I'd share with you my family's super-sekrit recipe: this is my annual contribution to Thanksgiving.

Oh god I have no clue how to make a pie, but I'm pretty sure I've seen strawberry pie before. If you wanted to be a bit different you could always make a strawberry lattice instead. As far as I know, it's just like a normal pie, but the top if kind of criss-crossed instead of being totally covered by pastry.
